THURSTON GET'S HIS SURGERIES

Hi Thurston folks,

Well Thurston went under the knife last week and did very well. He had an eye lift AKA an entropian surgery, which he really needed, his eye has been bugging him for a long time but we could not do anything with it til his mange was gone. He also got neutered and does not even miss his boys, I don't even think he has realized they are gone *LOL*

We had a little set back on Sunday with his eye stitches when a frenchie came to stay with us for the night and Thurston ended up missing a few stitches and had to go back in and have his eye re-sutured which will now take a little longer to heal, gotta watch those frenchies! they are quick and full of energy! *LOL*

But all is well in Thurston's world he is healing fine and resting.

Thurston here, I's just want you's all to know that I's doing just wonderful. I's feeling better since I have no more medicines to take currently. I's getting my eye surgery and a neuter in a week or so. I's just wanted to show you's a current picture of me's with some more hair, I's love my new look, I's very handsome I's know.

CLEAR FOR TAKE OFF

Well Thurston lovers, Thurston is free of mange, he had his final scraping yestersay and it was mite free!! This now means that Thurston can now have his eye entropian surgery and be fixed, once he has recovered he will be ready for his next new adventure of finding that perfect forever home. EXCITING NEWS!!

Thurston is busy chewing on a big knuckle bone and asked that I relay the good news for him. THURSTON IS MANGE FREE!!!!!! Thurston aka "Handsome" saw his vet on Saturday and they reported the GREAT news! He will continue his meds for another month and have another scraping just to make sure. After that he will have his right entropian done and be neutered. While I am very happy for Thurston and his health it has also reminded me that I will soon be placing this spectacular boy in a new forever home (sniff sniff). He has become such a part of my life and I could not have asked for such a wonderful foster boy. He makes me laugh every single day and it has been a true honor to help him and he has definitely paid me back with all of the butt wiggles and laughter. Whom ever gets this wonderful guy will have to give him a pillow allowance!! He LOVES suckling on those pillow corners! and here is a tip: If you like your pillows you will hide them from him. This is something Thurston has done his whole life and he is not willing to give it up. Please check back soon to see how Thurston is doing. THREE DEAD MITES, THREE DEAD MITES...

Hello Bullie Lovers, I's got to go to the vet for another skin scraping to check for those nasty mites that have taken over my skin. The nice lady Dr. called me "Handsome" so I know I's looking better. After about 10 nerve racking minutes she delivered the good news that they only found THREE DEAD MITES on my slide!! while mum says it was not the best news it is still great news to know that they are dead, I am hoping in a few weeks when I's go back for another test that there wont's be ANY mites on my slide so that I can finally be mite free!! and that will be's the best news. Mum say's that once I am mite free that I's have to stay on my meds for another month and then I will be able to get my eye fixed as it's weally starting to bother me's, mum said it's like an eye lift for dogs but mum calls it an entropian (what ever) I's like eye lift better. Plus she said the friends between my legs will have to go too! Doh! She say's I won't even miss them. I's been having fun this summer hanging out and taking life easy. THURSTON UPDATE

Hi Friends, I hope all of you are well.

I had my FIRST check up with my Dr. on Friday the 13th. Seems that I am shedding these mites like I am supposed to. I have at least another month or two on this icky medicine and those darn baths. But I know it is worth it. Mum got me a rubber duck that squeaks (which I LOVE) and so when it is bath time she throws the duck in the tub and I just jump in after it, then I get to play with it while Mum bathes me, it keeps my mind off the water that gets on my face and I don’t panic as much, I just really don’t like getting my face wet. That is why this mange on my face and the baths that Mum has to give me are so hard and a lot of work. My fur is growing back, it is hard to see though but Mum says I feel like a peach, she says that I am fuzzy and that we are making good progress. When I get rid of all this mange Mum says they are going to have to get rid of my “Boys” YIKES!! Then I will go live with someone new who will love me and take care of me forever.

Mum has been keeping me very busy or maybe I have been keeping her busy *LOL*

I have been doing a lot of sunbathing in the sun with Lou-Lou and Arley as the weather has been just FABOULOUS.

I am feeling better each and every day. I make mum laugh by doing my bullie laps in the yard, I hunker down really low to the ground and go at mach speeds, Mum says I look like a dork when I do that but it is FUN, FUN, FUN!

I also tease Mum while she is using that loud, annoying thing she pushes around on the carpet, I HATE IT so I let her know every time she get’s it out and turns it on. I bark at it and try to bite the wheels which makes Mum swat at me but she can never catch me because I am too quick for her *ROFLMAO* I also do it to her while she sweeps the kitchen floor, I know the broom is quiet but I like to tease the Mum.

I am still suckling on a pillow and I can’t/won’t give this habit up, it is my security and I love to do it, during the day I lay on the bed and get all the pillows soggy (tee hee) then at night when Mum gets home I grab one off the bed and drag it around where ever Mum is sitting and suck on it, Mum thinks it is cute. She even took pictures of me doing it!!

Well that is all folks, I have to go get ready, we are having Maddie the Boxer over for a few days so it will be a new butt to sniff (Yee Haw)

HERE'S WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN THURSTON'S WORLD

Hi to all my human friends,

Sorry it has been awhile since my last update but mum has been keeping me busy.

I am doing just honky-dory fine. I am still taking all my medicine like a good boy. My skin feels better and softer too. I am starting to get peach fuzz on my face and the top of my head and mum tells me that it is a sexy look for me. Mum still gives me those darn bath’s which I don’t really care for but she makes me take them for my benefit (so she says) and I should not complain cause in between bath’s she gives me the best sponge bath’s, I like those better because I can lay down and roll all over, I just hate it when she get’s my face wet (Grrrr) but she keeps reminding me that this mange stuff is a lot of work. (Sigh)

I have to tell you what that weird mum of mine did the other day, she could not find the flyswatter so she got this brilliant idea to use a rolled up newspaper and start swatting at the air like a mad lady (she is nuts) which made me bark at her (my way of telling her to knock it off that I did not like that.) I CATCH THE FLY’S AROUND HERE but mum did not like that idea either, she babbled something about worms & bees and I don’t need those with these mites! NO FANK YOU!! So then mum turned on this purple light that made some “ZAP” noise and it was terrifying! Some of those big flying insects “ZAPPED” for a long time and made a bad smell. I had to run inside and hide, I DID NOT LIKE THAT THING, I made mum turn it off, take it down and get it out of my sight before I would go back outside and play (and I am not a sissy either, so don’t even think that) there are just things that I do not like.

Mum, Arley, Lou-Lou and I took a long car ride this past weekend to Buckley, WA for the annual Bulldog Bash where I got to meet so many new friends, a lot of them looked like me (well they had all their hair though) and I have to admit I am just as handsome as all of them even with out some of my hair (but don’t tell those mugs I said that). It was an absolute blast with all of us running around off leash chasing one another, begging for food, and marking all those spots. Everyone there was so nice to us. I was so tired by the end of the night that all I wanted to do was suck on my pillow and go to sleep!

I have to go nap now as the sun is shinning on the back deck. I will be back soon to let you know what is happening in my world.

THURSTON UPDATE

Hello Bullie Folks, My name is Kodie and I am Thurston's foster mum. Thurston is settling right in at my house with my bullie Lou-Lou and my boxer boy Arley. He does very well with other dogs and loves to play with them and toys. When not playing he loves to lounge in the sun and just take life easy. He is a big cuddle bug!! He is a great boy. When Thurston gets tired he looks for a pillow or a blanket to suckle on till he falls fast asleep, it is very cute. He seems to be feeling a bit better now that he is on a good kibble and his system adjusts. He continues to take his medicine like a champ and tolerate the baths that he needs for his mange. He totally knows that I am here to help him and he is very appreaciatitive of it. It will be a long road for both of us to clear up his mange and make him all better as he deserves nothing less since he has been uncomfortable with the mange for so long. I would also like to thank his current sponsors so very much for their donations to Thurston and his care as it really means a lot and I know Thurston would give you big, slobbery kisses if he could. HI, I AM THURSTON AND I AM NEW HERE

I am not sure what is going on, all I know is my owner dropped me off with this new lady and she sped away crying.

I have been with my new mum for a few days now and I really like her a lot.

The first day with her she took me to this place called the “Vet” because she said I have “Mange” and I am really scared because I don’t know what a “vet” is nor do I know what “mange” is.

It turns out that this “Vet” is my very own personal Doctor who does all kinds of stuff to me, he pokes something in my butt, listens to my heart, scrapes my skin, looks in my ears, at my eyes and my teeth! He is really nice and gives me treats but their not very good because they are those “healthy” one’s YUK!

He told my mum that I tested positive for mites!! MITES!? What the hell!? I wonder if that is why I feel and look like crap all the time? Hummm
The Doc gave mum a bag of stuff for me to make me better but I hear this mange stuff is going to be a lot of work for both of us. I have to get a bath twice a week with new shampoo, there are all these pills I am suppose to take, even though I have not seen all these “pills” yet (TEE HEE) but mum sure gives me a lot of treats though YUMMY! Because I am a good boy I know.
It sounds like I will be here for awhile so will you please come back and see how I am doing pretty please.
